Reading is the quickest way to get the most information. And it's fun!
- Be purposeful: Decide what to read.
- Choose wisely: Good writing: evidence of good thinking? Yes.
- Be patient: Budget a sustainable number of pages per day. Meet your goal.
- Examine your progress: Take notes, make conclusions, write and post reviews. Rewrite. Who was it who said "the unexamined life is not worth living?" (hint: see below).
Think it over
- Be methodic: Use a pencil or app: keep a record of your thoughts
- Give thinking time: There's a saying: "Cupertino was not built in a day," and it's as true now as it was in the days of ancient Cupertino.
- Get enough exercise: Exercise makes you smarter. It makes lab rats smarter, and they can't even read!
Even when you read for recreation, it's not for escape.
